How to create a Split Slate in Slatable Premium

Sometimes you want to combine 2 slates into one video. This is especially helpful with a full-body and close-up slate.

Some casting directors do not like this approach to slates, so please check their instructions and follow them!

Create a Split Slate

In the Takes screen, record 2 Takes with the Slatable camera (you can import Takes as well, but the layout might look different).

Slatable will crop the landscape video from the left and right sides.

Tap on the ••• and choose Split Slate.

Select 2 Takes. The order of choosing will determine their placement on the screen: #1 on the left, #2 on the right.

Mute one of the videos.

Tap Create Split Slate.

This will create a new Take that you can Like to add to your tape.
